Make Change
Free Heart believes in making a difference in our community. That's why a portion of our profit is donated to local causes and charity organizations.
What are we currently supporting?
From now until the end of the year we will be donating to a cause very dear to our hearts: cancer research and care.
A letter from our co-owner...
Hello everyone; I'm Hunter Outten, a co-owner of Free Heart. Our goal until the end of the year is to donate money to the Christiana Care Cancer Center. This cause is a very special one to me personally.
As a teen I was diagnosed with very late stage melanoma that nearly claimed my life at ages 12-13. I didn't have much hope that I would be able to make it through this. I was referred to a doctor named Benjamin Cooper at the Christiana Hospital and given low odds of survival. The cancer center team diagnosed and cared for me. They helped give me a second chance at life.
October 25, 2014 will mark exactly 10 years that I have been cancer free. Through <5% odds, I am here today and better than ever. I want to help raise money for the cancer center and give another person the chance to continue living. The knowledge and hard work these doctors provide on a daily basis is truly a blessing.
We'd also like to mention a few members of our extended family...
Kimberly Smith (1962-2012, lymphoma); mother of friend Tyler Smith
Lucie Jobson (leukemia); sister of model Chloe Jobson
Dorothy Krause (breast cancer); grandmother of Kiki
Neil Krause (1939-2013, melanoma), grandfather of Kiki
Holly Wingate (myeloma); cousin of Hunter
